Audi – luxury unit of Volkswagen and recipient of top-of-the-line VW wheel bearings – is preparing its DTM drivers for the upcoming DTM season. The final tests for the new DTM season on April 22 was done at the circuit of Oschersleben in Hockenheim since last Tuesday. Mattias Ekström, DTM with the other three superstars to know Lucas Luhr, Mike Rockenfeller and Timo Scheider had shared one of the 420 hp RS Audi A4 cars on the north-eastern part of Germany to visit. But instead of the four Audi factory drivers have set their house on Lake Constance. It may be noted that the "Lake Constance Connection" was completed by a sports car driver Marco Werner, who twice a Le Mans winner and a fellow of Lucas Luhr and Mattias Ekstrom, both in Switzerland. According to Luhr, Marco and I do a lot together. Motorbike tours or water sports for example. Eki also shows now and then with his dogs. Marco Werner has also set up his home on Lake Constance a few years ago, while Mattias Ekström moved residence from his Swedish home to Salenstein one year ago. The move he made according to Ekstrom, DTM Champion in 2004 was important because he wanted to be closer to both his team and Audi Sport. He added: "I liked the area around Lake Constance the most when I was looking for a new home." Rockefeller and Mike Lucas Luhr moved to Lake Constance from Monaco at the start of the year, and are now work on their daily fitness programs, while enjoying the lush green landscape that is very different from jogging through the Monegasque concrete jungle. And while Luhr, Rockefeller, Ekstrom, Werner and enjoy the Swiss shores of Lake Constance, Timo Scheider on the other hand, has chosen to move to the Austrian village of Altach a few years ago. The young family guy simply adores the proximity of the mountains. He said: "I am a child of nature and find peace and quiet here, I need to recharge my batteries before a hectic race weekend." The rest of the Audi factory drivers who live in the Lake Constance regularly meet at their leisure, according to Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Head of Audi Motorsport is a good thing, because "Sports car racing and the DTM is a team sport." He added: "It’s teamwork, not lonely wolves needed in Le Mans or in the DTM. You can only be successful if you respect and attention to each other. You need your teammates. "Two of the new Audi factory driver Lucas Luhr and Mike namely Rockefeller have already experienced benefits from Lake Constance Connection and this is in terms of valuable tips they get from their friendly neighbor Mattias Ekstrom. How much information they have learned will be revealed on April 22 at Hockenhiem. P>
